Counts use the same eligibility rules as a client digest: a program counted here is one a Berkshire County business can be matched to. Programs limited to certain towns are included and labelled with those towns.

New client digest

Enter what you know about the business. Anything you leave blank is treated as unknown, which widens the results rather than narrowing them.

*required field

The business

Only used to label this session in your list. Not part of matching.

This is what makes local matching work: it resolves to a county, which is how town and county programs find them.

What they do

Pick up to three. This is the single biggest driver of what they'll be matched to.

Ownership

Worth asking. Many programs are reserved for these owners. Being specific matters: if we only know someone is minority-owned, a grant for Black-owned businesses gets flagged as unconfirmed instead of matched.

Advanced options

All optional, and all of it sharpens the match. Anything left blank is treated as unknown rather than as a no, so skipping a question keeps programs in play instead of ruling them out.

What they need the money for. These push matching programs up the list rather than filtering others out.

What they do, what they're working toward, and anything that would help find the right funding. A few sentences or a few paragraphs.

The ZIP already gets us to the county. A full address gets us to the census tract, which is what HUBZone and Opportunity Zone programs are scoped to. Fill in all three or none — a street with no city or state usually will not resolve.

Some programs are reserved for underbanked businesses. Leaving this blank keeps those in play.

Takes about a minute.
